The eighth annual Transgender Lives: The Intersection of Health and Law Conference being held on Saturday, April 26 at the UConn Health Center from 8:00 AM till 5 PM. This all day conference is geared towards Service Providers, Medical and Legal Professionals, Trans and Gender non-conforming community, allies and all those interested in the Health and Law issues facing the Trans and gender non-conforming communities.
General Registration price is $25 per person (including lunch), $50 for anyone seeking CEC credits from the National Association of Social Workers of CT (NASW/CT). There are also a limited number of Scholarships available for those needing assistance with the registration cost.

Dru Levasseur & Tony Ferraiolo
Our Keynote speakers are Co-Founders of the Jim Collins Foundation, a nonprofit organization that raises money to fund gender-confirming surgeries.
M. Dru Levasseur is the Transgender Rights Attorney for Lambda Legal, the oldest and largest national legal organization committed to achieving full recognition of the civil rights of LGBT people and people with HIV. Dru focuses his work on impact litigation, advocacy and community education to advance the civil rights of transgender people nationwide. Before joining Lambda Legal, Dru was staff attorney for Transgender Legal Defense & Education Fund. He serves as Chair of the Legal Issues Committee of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) and is an active member of the LGBT Rights Committee of the City Bar of New York. In 2011, Dru was a recipient of the National LGBT Bar Association’s Best LGBT Lawyer Under 40 Award.
Tony Ferraiolo, a Certified Life Coach and Transgender Youth Advocate in New Haven, Connecticut, is founder of several groups including Translation, TransPACT and Create Yourself that support transgender and gender non-conforming youth and their families. Over the last five years, these groups have served over 125 youth and over 130 parents or grandparents. In 2009, Tony started a binder drive for trans youth, which went global when he shipped his first binder to a young transgender man in New Zealand.
