Community Emergency Assistance Programs (CEAP) and Avenues for Homeless Youth are co-hosting Together for Good – a fundraiser to strengthen the safety net of the northwest suburbs of Hennepin Couunty. Our goal is to ensure all who live here are safe, warm, fed, and have the support they need to thrive.

We invite you to come together on May 24, 2017, at our first Together for Good Breakfast.  Coffee will be served at 7:30 a.m., and our compelling program and complimentary breakfast begins at 8:00 a.m. The program will end promptly at 9:00 a.m. Learn how CEAP and Avenues help your neighbors and join us in building a brighter future for the entire Brooklyn Community, together!

About CEAP

The mission of Community Emergency Assistance Programs (CEAP) is to help families, in all life stages, gain financial stability and maximize their ability to live independently and with dignity. CEAP provides full-choice food assistance, Meals on Wheels, housing, and economic stabilization resources to our neighbors in need. We help individuals and families with their immediate needs while also addressing the many root causes that force them to seek help such as unemployment, underemployment, health challenges, natural disasters, domestic violence, or other unexpected financial stressors.  We also seek to improve co-occurring struggles that often coincide with living in poverty such as poor nutrition, lack of mobility, financial literacy, isolation, and obesity. We operate in a highly-relational manner by building connections with the people we serve and taking the time to address each person’s needs in the most dignified, individualized way possible. We believe in doing all of this from a place of joy as a way to restore dignity to the human experience.

About Brooklyn Avenues

The mission of Avenues for Homeless Youth is to provide emergency shelter, short-term housing and supportive services for homeless youth in a safe and nurturing environment. Through such service, Avenues seeks to help youth achieve their personal goals and make a positive transition into young adulthood. Brooklyn Avenues, our 12-bed shelter for homeless youth opened February 2015. This critical new program has already proven it was needed – 104 young people found safety and support at Brooklyn Avenues during its first full year of opperations.  At Brooklyn Avenues, 12 youth (ages 16 to 21) at a time receive shelter, basic needs and the holistic, principles-based supports for which Avenues is well known – 24 hour guidance, case management, mental health and nursing consultation, education and career support, life skills training, housing search, family counseling and after-care support.
