Living with Uncertainty:               Mindfulness in Daily Life

A non-residential silent Insight Meditation Retreat in London
Friday (6:30 pm), April 24 to Sunday (4 pm), April 26, 2015

with teachers Donna Paige & Kate Partridge

It is the natural inclination of our minds to create predictable and safe storylines about our daily lives.  When things suddenly change and stability turns into uncertainty, how can we cope?  The practice of Insight Meditation was designed for just such a situation.

If you have been interested in learning to meditate or in deepening your meditation practice, this silent non-residential weekend retreat, "Living with Uncertainty", will offer the essential teachings of Insight/Vipassana Meditation

This retreat is designed for both new and renewing meditators who would like a short retreat experience to establish or renew, and to strengthen their meditation practice. The retreat includes meditation instruction, sitting and walking meditation, dharma talks, and opportunities to meet with a teacher.

This is a silent retreat that will foster a sense of solitude and help to provide a safe space and atmosphere that support the deepening of meditation and the unfolding of insight. Taking time out from a busy schedule to enter into silence in a supportive environment - this is truly a gift one gives to oneself and to all others with whom we are in contact.

The Michaelite Fathers Retreat Centre in the northwest corner of London is set in beautiful rural surroundings that enhance the meditative spirit.

Donna Paige has been engaged in Buddhist studies for nearly 20 years.   She has been influenced by teachers at both Spirit Rock Meditation Centre in California, and the Insight Meditation Society in Massachusetts, and she has completed a 5-year Mentorship Programme with Norman Feldman, Molly Swan and Michael Stone.  Recently retired from a career as a Couple and Family Therapist, Donna has been teaching Mindfulness and Insight Meditation classes at various venues in the Hamilton area since 2007.

Kate Partridge has had a personal meditation practice for over 20 years. She is the founder of Dharma Retreats, which has brought teachers from the Insight Meditation Society and Spirit Rock Meditation Centre for 7-day silent retreats in Ontario every year since 1998. Kate is a clinical psychologist in private practice in London. She has been teaching Mindfulness Meditation since 2003, having been trained in the Center for Mindfulness program developed by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn.
