Have you ever considered starting a storytelling club at your library? Did you know there are statewide and national programs that recognize young storytellers? In this half-day workshop you’ll learn how to mentor, encourage and support “youthful voices.” Develop your skills as a storytelling coach and leave with a plan for growing young storytellers at your library.

Trainer: Kaye Byrnes, Kaye Byrnes Storytelling
As a workshop leader, Kaye strives to help others find their own storytelling voice. She has led workshops for public librarians, educators and storytelling enthusiasts. Her workshops are highly participatory and those who come with trepidation leave inspired and confident.
As President of the Florida Storytelling Association, Kaye played a leadership role in promoting storytelling and encouraging storytellers throughout the state. Overseeing such initiatives as the annual Florida StoryCamp, regional StoryLab workshops and the Youthful Voices of Florida competition, she is actively engaged in the statewide storytelling community.
Cost: NEFLIN classes are free of charge for Florida library staff. Registration is required for all classes and NEFLIN members get priority.
