FABricate Fridays @ NEFLIN (04/21/17)

Special All about Library Makerspaces Focus!

NEFLIN will host drop-in dates once per quarter to highlight our equipment and resources available for your library programming.

This one is special!  Technology guru Diana Silveira will join us from 10 am - 11:30 am to present on the topic All about Library Makerspaces!

Creating a space in your library for users to make is a trend that is continuing to grow.   Diana will explore:

  • How to make the case for a Makerspace

  • How to plan for a Makerspace your community will use

  • Implementation and management of a Makerspace or program

  • Programming and planning to make your program/space an ongoing success

The second half of this workshop is designed with librarians and programmers in mind – intended to be a time for inspiration and support.  Learn how to use NEFLIN’s STEM/STEAM equipment and Maker resources before checking them out for your own library programs.

A variety of Maker items and ready-to-use technology kits will be available:

  • 3Doodler
  • 3D Printer
  • Arduino
  • Beamz
  • Bloxels
  • LEGO kits
  • littleBits
