binary-beams-abstract.jpg

Have you heard the news? FRAD (Functional Requirements for Authority Data) and FRSAD (Functional Requirements for Subject Headings) are going away. Well, not entirely!

In this session, we'll explore Authorities under the LRM (Library Reference Model) in detail. We'll review how to read an Authority record including subject and name authority records as well as about linked data for authorities.

Resources and a quiz for post-class work will be provided.

Audience: Catalogers, Technical Services, Systems, as well as any library staff interested in bibliographic data

Virtual Trainer: Robin Fay

Robin Fay is a Metadata and Technology Librarian with over 15 years of experience. She has worked with ARL libraries, the Library of Congress, the Digital Public Library of America, among others.

This is an online class. Access information will be emailed one week ahead.

Cost: NEFLIN classes are free of charge for Florida library staff. Registration is required for all classes and NEFLIN members get priority.
