One of the most confusing parts of cataloging can be determining treatment. Is it is a serial? a monographic set? A monographic in a serial? A serial in a serial? Oh my!
In this session, we'll explore ways to identify types of materials, as well as practical tips for dealing with conflicting information. We'll discuss the interpretation of treatment notes in authority records, the impact of RDA on series, and how the LRM views continuing resources. Discussion will also cover the impact of the Library of Congress ceased tracing (most) series and how their decision has impacted many libraries.
A quiz and resources will be shared after the workshop.
