Storytime Prop Making - NEFLIN (10/23/19)

Participants will have an opportunity to create their own props (flannel, hands on, etc.) for storytime and come up with new ideas.

This workshop is geared for youth services staff who present storytimes for young children. Participants will need to email the instructor one song (with words, possibly video if available) and one story. The instructor will pick examples from the submitted ideas for the whole class to make.

Material will be provided, but please
bring a pair of GOOD scissors.

Highlights of the program include:

• Websites with ideas/printables/clip art and other images
• Working with various materials: felt, cardstock, contact paper
• Lamination
• Interactive storytime props
• Big props for big groups

Trainer: Marie Escriba, Duval County Public Schools

After more than ten years of teaching art in a public library setting, Marie Escriba is now an art educator at Duval County Public Schools. She holds a MA in art education from the University of Florida and has years of experience training library staff and preschool teachers.

Cost: NEFLIN classes are free of charge for Florida library staff.  Registration is required for all classes and NEFLIN members get priority.
