Leadership Interest Group Meeting (9/2/20)

Meeting Information

"Leadership is not about titles or the corner office. It’s about the willingness to step up, put yourself out there, and lean into courage. The world is desperate for braver leaders. It’s time for all of us to step up."  --Brene Brown

For 2020, the NEFLIN Leadership Interest Group will share in a group read of the FLA One Book One State title, Dare to Lead by Brene Brown.  We invite any interested NEFLIN members to check out a copy from their favorite library, read along with the posted schedule, and join this group for quarterly online discussions of what you've read.

For the third meeting, we will be joined by Harold George, Extension Services Manager at Saint Johns Public Library System, and Christine Boatright, Library Director at Florida Gateway College, to share their experiences of leading during a pandemic and how they began a phased approach to reopening.  We will also continue to discuss Dare to Lead in the time that remains. Please read Part 1:  Rumbling with Vulnerability, Sections 4 and 5, and Part 2:  Living Into Our Values (pages 118-217).  Also, review pages 18-33 of the Read-Along Workbook.  The next meeting date is December 2nd.

Thank you for your interest - we are excited to kick off this new NEFLIN experience!
