The next meeting of the Technical Services Interest Group is Friday, December 10, at 2:00 pm. Our topic for this session will be collaboration - come join us for this important conversation!
Technical services staff do not typically interact with patrons directly. However, the work we are doing will be more meaningful if we understand the real needs of the people we serve and address them with our expertise. What better way to do this other than interacting and collaborating with our public services colleagues. “It is amazing what we can accomplish when we’re in it together.”

My name is Trenita White. I am a Professor, Librarian at Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Florida. I received my BS in Statistics from the University of Florida and my MLIS from Florida State University. I have worked in the library at Santa Fe College for almost 36 years. I began part-time in the Circulation Department of the library and later full-time in Technical Services. I have 31 years of experience in technical services working in various job functions. My primary responsibility is supervision of the Technical Services department. I oversee and manage Technical Services operations and workflow (acquisitions, serials, interlibrary loan, and cataloging), manage acquisitions budget and provide reports, maintain statistical records of Technical Services operations and staff reference desk. I currently serve on several local and statewide committees. |
