Junior Great Books Winter 2019
What is Junior Great Books (JGB)?
An awesome book club for kids in 2nd - 5th grades! It happens weekly in January, February & March during lunch/recess. A parent-volunteer leads a discussion about and fun activities related to the stories read in advance.
Kids: What's expected of participants?
1) Read the story (stories) twice before your meeting (parents can also read to kids)
2) Bring a bag lunch & drink
3) Have fun by joining in the book talks and games!
Parents: Consider becoming a leader!
Grade-level groups are led by parent volunteers. You'll have the chance to work directly with students and your enthusiasm will foster their love of literature and learning.
Groups may not run if a leader is not identified.
Cost is $30/per student. Families seeking scholarships should speak with Principal Chris Holden.
