Know Where You Are Going with

Emotionally Focused Therapy

(or You Could End Up Somewhere Else)

A Roadmap to Success with Couples and Families
September 25, 2014 -- Baton Rouge, LA

Do you know where are you going with your couples and families?  What is your theory of change?  Wouldn’t it be nice to have the best tools and understanding to strengthen and safeguard the families you treat?   Emotionally Focused Therapy is the most empirically supported marriage therapy model in the world and is proven to help couples and families break free from negative patterns and reconnect with one another, allowing the relationship to become a source of nurturance and support.  This workshop combines cutting edge theory, research and clinical data into a 21st century road map to help navigate through the landscape of love and attachment.

The workshop will be held at the Tracy Center at Catholic Diocese of Baton Rouge, located at 1800 South Acadian Thruway in Baton Rouge. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. while the workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Six CEUs will be provided for social workers. We are currently awaiting approval from LPC and LMFT.

This workshop is a dynamic overview of the Four Day Externship in Emotionally Focused Therapy, the first certification  step in EFT, to be held in New Orleans, LA, January 20 – 23, 2015. Spaces are already filling for the January training so let us know if you are interested.

Presenter Karen Giunta, LMFT, is a Certified EFT Supervisor and Therapist in private practice in Southport, CT. She provides empathic and compassionate presence in her work with couples, families, individuals, supervisees and small groups.  Karen is a member of the New York Center for Emotionally Focused Therapy Board of Directors overseeing externship coordination, training and supervising therapists from around the country.  As an active member and voice in the ICEEFT and NYCEFT communities, Karen performed an instrumental function for the 2012 EFT Summit, and is helping develop the EFT communities in Connecticut, Long Island NY, Louisiana, and Arkansas.
