LMSW/LCSW Examination Prep Course

The Tulane School of Social Work will host a seven-hour LMSW/LCSW test preparation course on Saturday, September 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event will be held on the third floor of 127 Elk Place in Room 343, and registration will begin at 8 a.m.

This course will prepare MSWs for the LMSW exam as well as the LCSW exam. Each participant will get a brief review of subjects included in the test, acquire test taking strategies and take a group LCSW sample test. The group will review answers to the sample test and discuss the processes used in choosing answers. The course will be conducted by Parker Sternbergh and Dr. Heather Gillis.

Parker Sternbergh is the Assistant Director of the Porter Cason Institute and Center for Life Long Learning at the Tulane School of Social Work. She has been at Tulane since 2009. Ms. Sternbergh has worked in private clinical practice, agency and community macro settings.She is a board-approved clinical supervisor and has served on the Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners.

Heather Gillis, PhD., LCSW-BACS is a Clinical Assistant Professor and Director of Field Education at Tulane School of Social Work.  Dr. Gillis has been a practicing social worker for 30 years and has been a licensed clinical social worker in Louisiana since 1999 and is a board-approved clinical supervisor.

Registration
The registration fee is $120. Please fill out the online form to register. Payments can be made via credit card or via check or money order (payable to Tulane School of Social Work). 

 If you pay by check, payment should be mailed immediately after completing the online registration form. Your registration is NOT complete until we have received your payment.  Please mail your payment to:

Please fill out the registration form, but your final registration is predicated on receiving your payment. Once your payment is received, you will receive an e-mail confirming your registration into the program, and you will be guaranteed a spot at the workshop.

CANCELLATION POLICY -- In the event you cannot come to our program, it is important for you to notify us before the program begins, either by email (preferred) at psternbe@tulane.edu or via phone at 504-231-6618.  We will refund the registration fee if notified 24 hours before the event begins, after the event begins there are no refunds.  

Parking Information
The Tulane School of Social Work is located at 127 Elk Place. Please see the location map.

 There are two entrances to the school. You can enter through the main entrance located at 127 Elk Place or via the second floor skywalk from the Saratoga Parking Garage, located at 111 S. Saratoga St.

There are various surface lots in close proximity to the school that you use if you would like. The average price to park in a ground level lot is $5 per day. If you park in a ground lot, please use the school’s main entrance located at 127 Elk Place and take the elevator to the third floor. The Saratoga Parking Garage is the closest parking garage and is located at 111 S. Saratoga St. The daily rate for the garage is $7, but the garage does have direct access to the school via the skywalk on the second floor. To find the skywalk, just follow the yellow posts in the parking garage once you exit the elevator lobby in the garage. Once you enter 127 Elk place, go down the hall to the elevators and take them to the third floor.
