A 3 Hour Cold Read Comedy Intensive Class with Head Casting Director

Carol Goldwasser!

Carol Goldwasser has cast some of the biggest hit shows in the youth entertainment industry.

Her  Past credits include “Hannah Montana,” “Austin & Ally,” “I’m in the Band,” “Dog with a Blog,” “The Boy Who Cried Werewolf,” and others.

Carol will pick out a scene for each actor in advance based on type, age, and gender and will bring them in with her.  She works in a class setting, reading with each actor individually in front of all, so learning opportunities are maximized.

Having worked in casting for over twenty years, specializing in youth programming for the past ten years, Carol is uniquely qualified to bring young actors to the next level in their comic acting and their ability to make strong comedy choices.

In the scene work, we will cover the following:

Acting with the appropriate energy for multi-camera shows

Making the right choices for scripted comedy versus sketch comedy

Making the right choices for multi-camera versus single camera shoots

Making choices which highlight the comedy and “land” the joke

Making appropriate character choices

Actors will be re-directed and given adjustments to shape the scene to the writer’s intentions.

THIS WORKSHOP IS A LEARNING EXPERIENCE.  IT IS NOT AN AUDITION OR AN EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY.  WHEN THE WORKSHOP IS OVER, THE CASTING DIRECTOR TEACHING THIS WORKHOP WILL NOT BE TAKING HOME NOR BE GIVEN ACCESS TO YOUR HEADSHOT, RESUME, OR ANY OTHER OF YOUR PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS.

Class Details: Carol will be bringing scenes the day of the workshop according to each student's age and gender.
