Accessing Government Grants

 This session has been postponed until February, 2013.

Are you a cleantech entrepreneur who wants to meet and learn about obtaining government grants?

Registration has opened for the December Investor Access Breakfast focused on accessing government grants. At this breakfast, you will gain insight into how to apply and qualify for government grants, while  networking with other cleantech professionals. You will also have an opportunity to meet privately with government and financial representatives.

During this session, you will hear from Doug Campbell of i2c Solutions and Greg Lopez from the United States Small Business Association. 

So How Does It Work?

This session will begin with a continental breakfast followed by presentations from experts offering insight into how to access government grants in renewable energy and cleantech business opportunities.  

Once the general session is complete, if your application was chosen, you will have an opportunity to meet with these experts during private, 20-minute meetings.

Speaker Bios

Douglas Campbell of i2c Solutions

Douglas Campbell has spent his entire career in the small business, early-stage technology and product development community.  He his highly experienced in establishing new programs in strategic product and market areas, and using funding from the Federal government as a facilitator.  To that end, Mr. Campbell has secured over $12 million in funding from the Federal government to establish new programs in areas that include advanced structures and materials (space, aero and renewable energy systems), thermal management technologies and energy storage devices among others.  His funding experience includes all branches of the Department of Defense, the Department of Energy and the National Science Foundation.  Mr. Campbell holds a master of science degree in civil/structural engineering from the University of New Mexico and began his technology development career as a Research Assistant at the Air Force Research Laboratory's Space Vehicles Directorate.

Greg Lopez of the U.S. Small Business Administration

Greg Lopez is the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Colorado District Director. He is responsible for the day-to-day implementation of key economic initiatives and business development programs targeted to the Colorado small business community.

As the Mayor of Parker from 1992 through 1996, Greg’s role was that of the “strong mayor form of government” and he was both the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Administrative Officer, responsible for preparing and administering the Town’s $10 million dollar budget, and dealt with numerous growth issues, i.e. economic development, transportation, parks, open space, water, air quality, and crime.

As Mayor, Greg sat on numerous boards: Governors Metro Water Forum, Douglas County Growth Task Force, E-470 Public Highway Authority Board of Directors, Arapahoe Community College Advisory Council, Douglas County School District Long Range Planning Committee, Denver Regional Council of Governments, Metro Mayor’s Caucus and Putting Americas Communities Together Forum.

Greg has launched successful communications programs for numerous corporate clients; and is particularly adept at strategically positioning clients in both the business and political arenas.
