Presenter: Great Books Instructor

The purpose of this course is to prepare teachers to conduct Shared Inquiry discussions which will increase reading, speaking, writing and discussion skills with the use of outstanding literature.  Teachers will earn 10 hours of professional development and can receive an hour of graduate credit for an additional fee from the teacher.  This course includes 6-hours of face to face instruction and 4 hours of additional online time.  Classroom kits called Starting Off Strong are included to serve the online hours.  Teachers also receive training manuals and other handouts.  A library of grade level appropriate classroom materials are also sent to the course for teachers to view.  Presenter will be a Great Books Consultant.  For questions, contact Karen Sumner ksumner@wresa.org, 828.418.0011, ext. 26.
