The seminar is designed to give business owners (or potential owners) an understanding of crowdfunding, the collective effort of individuals who network and pool their money, usually via the Internet, to support businesses initiated by other people.
Crowdfunding your idea, product, or start up is becoming increasingly popular in the United States. Sites that offer rewards in exchange for financial backing, such as Kickstarter and Indiegogo are becoming the preferred route for entrepreneurs. In just a few months, offering equity or a percentage in your company in exchange for a backer's financial investment via crowdfunding will be legal in the United States.
