You are invited to join the Diocese of New Westminster’s 2018-2019 Missional Learning Cohort focused on developing ministries with creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship. This learning cohort, which first gathers on Wednesday May 30, 2018 from 2.00pm to 4.00pm, will continue quarterly for the next year.
Facilitated by the Rev. Dr. Tellison Glover, the Rev. Marnie Peterson, and Andrew Stephens-Rennie, it will provide participants with an opportunity to gain theological, imaginative, and practical foundations for developing, sustaining and multiplying new ministries in their communities.
Looking around the diocese, there are countless opportunities for faith-fuelled, liberating ministry in our various communities. This cohort will provide you with an opportunity to connect with others discerning new ministries, to develop responsive tools to use in your neighbourhoods, and to connect you with resources, ideas, and coaching.
This cohort was developed in response to needs articulated by the over 40 people who attended the March 10th Learning Party facilitated by the Rev. Emily Scott, founding pastor of St. Lydia’s in the Gowanus neighbourhood of Brooklyn, New York City.
This Learning Party is all about opening our eyes to what God might be showing us, and unleashing our imagination of what our neighbourhoods, cities, and world might look like if we responded to what we hear from God and neighbour alike.
While participation in the Learning Party is not prerequisite, the first session builds from learnings there. If you desire to participate and did not attend the Learning Party, you will be provided with an activity to complete prior to participation in the cohort.
