"Story-selling: How to Help Your Constituents Make Your Case"

Talk Summary: Impactful and emotional stories can be key to successful fundraising. This program will provide tips and approaches to use with your clients, volunteers and others as they prepare to tell their story in front of an audience or a camera.
Presenter Bio: Mark Schumacher joined Victory Junction in June of 2014 as Chief Development Officer. He previously served as Executive Director of Development for the Miami Children’s Health Foundation - overseeing the individual, corporate, foundation and planned gift programs. As executive director for the Broward Health hospital system, Mark created, hired and trained their first development team. He also launched the major and planned giving programs for Make-A-Wish of Southern Florida. In addition, Mark acted as a special consultant to the president of the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and its foundation in Orlando.
For 25 years Mark was a broadcast journalist, the last 12 at WPLG-TV Miami. His personal experience as the father of a cancer survivor (his son Casey was diagnosed at age 5) inspired his move to focus on helping organizations that care for sick children.
