Instructor: Maria Sgambati, M.D.       riverfall
Trained as a physician and a biologist, Maria left a10-year career at the National Institutes of Health in 2008 to pursue a life-long interest in environmental work and her new career vision of having a job where she could wear her bathingsuit to work!  Maria currently works as the School Stream Science Coordinator for the Audubon Naturalist Society Green Kids program.  She also works as an independent biomedical consultant and as the Communications and Outreach Coordinator for the National Capital Region Watershed Stewards Academy.  She also teaches Freshwater Ecosystems for some of the local Master Naturalist programs. In her spare time she enjoys gardening, kayaking, and writing and all things manatee related.

As a participant, you will be able to practice your training with students in a summer workshop, teaching them the methods that you learn with Maria.

Immediately following this workshop, please join us for a work day in Springhill Lake Garden Outdoor Classroom.  Special invitation to any students or Master Gardeners who would like to fulfill service hours.
