Frank Degen EA, USTCP -  

Ethics, Statute of Limitations, Urban Legend-Disclosure on Tax Return is Audit Flag, Tax Research in the IRM and Testing your TAX IQ.  

Frank Degen, EA is a self-employed practitioner in Setauket (Long Island), New York. He has a Bachelors degree in mathematics from Iona College and a Masters degree from Johns Hopkins University. He became an Enrolled Agent in 1984. Frank is a fellow of the National Tax Practice Institute and a non-attorney admitted to practice in the United States Tax Court.


Frank served two terms as President of the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA). His first term was during the 2005-2006 year; his second term was during the 2012-2013 year. He served as NAEA Government Relations Chair for 4 years (2006-2010). He also served two terms as an NAEA Director. He was a three term president of the New York State Society of Enrolled Agents (NYSSEA) and was awarded the NYSSEA Founders Award in 1999. He received the NAEA Excellence in Public Awareness Award in 2001, the NAEA EA Mentor Award in 2004, the prestigious NAEA Founders Award in 2006 and the NAEA Advocacy Award in 2013.


Frank has been quoted extensively in publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Business Week, US News and World Report, USA Today and Kiplingers. He has been interviewed by news shows many times (including repeated interviews with Market Place Money on National Public Radio), has been a three-time panelist on TaxTalkToday and has appeared on the NBC Nightly News. He has also testified on behalf of NAEA before the IRS Oversight Board, the Senate Finance Committee and the House Ways & Means Oversight Sub-Committee. He was chosen three times by Accounting Today to its “Top 100” list. Frank also served a three year term on the Internal Revenue Service Advisory Council (IRSAC) and was selected as Chair in 2009.

 


Kevin Huston, EA, USTCP -

Kevin is the president of Blue Ridge Tax Advisors Inc., a tax, representation, and wealth-management firm in Asheville, North Carolina. He received his BS degree in Business Management from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, and his MBA in International Business from Georgia State University in Atlanta. Kevin earned the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Certified Life Underwriter (CLU) designations from The American College. He is a Graduate Fellow of the National Tax Practice Institute of the National Association of Enrolled Agents. Kevin is a co-moderator of Intuit's TaxAlmanac.org tax discussion forum. He has been a nationally known tax instructor for several years, and has authored several tax and financial articles for professional journals.

Robert Kerr has served as NAEA's senior director, Government Relations since 2004. Prior to joining NAEA, Kerr worked on the Senate Finance Committee Oversight and Investigation staff, where he assisted the committee chairman in providing oversight to, among others, IRS, US Postal Service Office of Inspector General, and General Services Administration. He also spent a dozen years in a variety of positions at IRS and is well-versed in a variety of tax administration issues. Kerr holds an MBA from Case Western Reserve University and a BA from Mount Union College.

 

Brian Wozniak

IRS Tax Update

Brian Wozniak is a Senior Tax Specialist with the Internal Revenue Service's Stakeholder Liaison Division in Portland and works with tax professionals to identify ways the agency can be more responsive to customers' needs. Mr Wozniak coordinates IRS outreach and education to the tax practitioner community and small business owners.
