Morning Sessions:
Workshop 1 Rainbow Support Group of MA: Learn about issues that affect the disabled lesbian, gay, bi-sexual & transgender community
Workshop 2 The Great Fight for Disability Rights: Eye-opener to the history of how people w. disabilities arrived at self-determination
Workshop 3 Inclusion and Overcoming Communication Barriers Tracy Thresher, one of the stars of the documentary “Wretches & Jabberers”, will share his personal story of overcoming communication barriers and becoming involved in community life. Participants will gain an understanding of the importance of inclusion in our schools and communities. A question and answer session will follow Tracy’s presentation.
Workshop 4 Strategies and starting points for a successful job search: Everything you need to know to start your job search!
Workshop 5 “ASK ME” How to Advocate 101: Presentation will define and demonstrate through activities how to ask for what we want.
Workshop 6 Dating Safety: Discussion about dating safety, dating via internet & in the work place
Workshop 7 Bullying: What to do if you are being bullied? How to protect yourself.
Workshop 8 It’s Your Right to Vote: Learn about why it’s important to vote and voting rights.
Workshop 9 Having Healthy Conversations with Supervisors and Co-workers: How to deal with problems w. your supervisor/co-workers at your job.

Workshop 10 Rainbow Support Group of MA: Same as Morning Session.
Workshop 11 Diversity in Our World: What does Diversity mean to you? Discussion w. panelists with different cultural, backgrounds.
Workshop 12 Real Friends Project: Making new friends can be difficult. Learn how to develop good friendships.
Workshop 13 “Speaking Out!”: Learn how to speak up for yourself. Let your voice be heard in your community.
Workshop 14 Getting Ready for Life after High School: Huge step forward in life. Learn the skills to adapt to an exciting new future.
Workshop 15 Health Care Self-Advocacy: Health care services can be overwhelming. Learn how to make sure doctors, and nurses listen to you.
Workshop 16 Advocacy at DDS: Joining Boards and Committees: Get involved. Find out how to participate on DDS boards & committees.

Watch and be a part of Surprise Special Guests that will share, through Musical and dance performances, their ethnic and cultural backgrounds. This will be a great way to end our Diversity Conference sharing in this experience together.
