FAEP Hydric Soils Training Course 

The FAEP Hydric Soils Training Course will be held on June 23 at the University of West Florida in Pensacola, FL. Certificates of Attendance will be available for your use for continuing education credits. The course will be broken into two sessions: Introductory and Advanced. Registrants can attend one or both sessions. This is a member-only training course.

Our speaker is Travis Richardson with T. Richardson Soils and Environmental. He is a Certified Professional Soil Scientist and a Florida Certified Soil Scientist, Richardson is an expert soil and wetland scientist with more than 17 years of experience developing an understanding of the relationship among soil characteristics, hydrology, and vegetation.

ITINERARY AT A GLANCE

Introductory Session

  • 8:00am: Fundamentals of hydric soils
  • 9:00am: Field determination of muck, mucky mineral, and mineral
  • 10:00am: Identification of field indicators of hydric soils
  • 12:00pm Course evaluation/certificates

Advanced Session

  • 1:00pm:Fundamentals of hydric soils
  • 1:15pm: Identification of field indicators of hydric soils and documentation
  • 4:00pm: Interpretation of altered soils
  • 5:00pm: Course evaluation/certificates
