Description:  What is the church?  What is Christian community?  How do the two relate to one another?  The global pandemic has changed the way that we participate in church and the way we understand our communities.  Divisions in our denomination have raised questions about the way we interact with other Brethren.  We will explore together questions around the nature of the church and Christian community in the Brethren tradition.  Then we will discuss how recent events are shifting these meanings and what those might mean for our congregations and communities.

Denise Kettering-Lane is the Associate Professor of Brethren Studies and Director of the MA Program at Bethany Theological Seminary.

A Zoom link will be emailed to all registered participants a day or so before the event.

Registration fee is $50 for .5 CEUs, or $40 for no CEUs. You may pay online using credit card, or by check payable to "Susquehanna Valley Ministry Center" and mailed to:  Susquehanna Valley Ministry Center, One Alpha Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
