Walter Brueggemann's Prophetic Imagination: Reviewed, Recovered, and Restored

Leader, Conrad Kanagy

Thursday, November 2, 2023, 9 AM - 3 PM

Elizabethtown College, Susquehanna Room

In this seminar we'll begin by addressing current challenges facing the church, its leaders, and its mission. We will then review the theological contributions of Walter Brueggemann to these challenges over the past five decades. We will consider how the recovery of these contributions may lead to a church that finds itself newly restored and reoriented.

Conrad L Kanagy is professor of sociology at Elizabethtown College where he has been teaching for 30 years. He also served as lead pastor for 16 years. He has written broadly about American and global and global Christianity. He is the author of the first biography of theologian Walter Brueggemann, just released by Fortress Press. He is the editor of a forthcoming book of recent Brueggemann essays (Fortress Press 2024).
