After-Lunch Program: The Israeli-Palestinian Conflict: Past, Present, Future" 

Sponsored by the UCLA Emeriti Association and UCLA Retirees' Association

This lecture will explore a number of key events related to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict whose anniversary is being commemorated in 2017: the Balfour Declaration (1917), the United Nations resolution on the partition of Palestine (1947), and the Six-Days War (1967). The lecture will adopt a multiple-lens perspective on these events whileconcluding with a discussion of what the future of the region might be.

David N. Myers is the Sady and Ludwig Kahn Professor of Jewish History at UCLA. He is the author of numerous books in the field of Jewish history including the forthcoming Very Short Introduction on Jewish History (Oxford) and TheStakes of History (Yale). He write and comments frequently on Israel-Pa lestine.
