Program Overview:
The Legal Process course is intended as an introduction to the legal process for all Building Code practitioners including building officials and designers. The Legal Process course can also be an excellent training and preparation tool for persons preparing to write the Ministry of Municipal Affairs, Legal qualification examination.
Students gain a basic knowledge of the legal process related to building code administration, roles and responsibilities of all practitioners, and the course is designed to help prepare individuals to write the Ministry of Municipal Affairs legal qualification examination, a requirement for all areas of Ministry qualifications.
Participants are encouraged to complete all Chapters of the course. Some Chapters are intended for all code practitioners while others provide information for Chief Building Officials, aspiring CBO's, Inspectors who have the same powers and duties as the CBO in relation to sewage systems or plumbing, Inspectors who are Supervisors and Managers of Inspectors and Registered Code Agencies.

Who Should Attend?
This program is intended for all Building Code Practitioners including inspectors and designers.
Instructor - Jeffrey Chalmers, CET, CBCO
Jeffrey has over 40 years’ experience in building code interpretation and enforcement as a plans examiner, inspector, chief building official, building code consultant and instructor of building code courses. Jeff has extensive knowledge in all areas of the Ontario code and has helped develop new training courses in the Ontario Building Code and also the National Building Code, for training across Canada.
Jeff is a member of OACETT, the OBOA and the OPIA.
Cancellation Policy
Kawartha Conservation reserves the right to postpone a learning event no later than seven days before the course start date. If the course is cancelled, a full refund will be issued. Kawartha Conservation is not responsible for travel arrangements and accommodation costs that have been incurred without a confirmation that the course is taking place.
