Speaker: Doug Stanley, CEO of Ridgeline Entertainment

Doug Stanley has lived a life of adventure as a successful television producer. Although he has been involved with more than a hundred national series, he is best known for his seven years of story telling as the longest-standing producer of Discovery Channel’s top show “Deadliest Catch.” Doug has also acted as producer of other top shows for Discovery Channel, Fox, ABC, Animal Planet and Country Music Television. A specialist in extreme environments, Doug designed the extreme conditions camera packages for “Deadliest Catch,” “Ice Road Truckers,” “Black Gold,” and “Lobsterwars.”

Doug has often served a dual role in the programming that he creates.  He is commonly credited as both as Producer and as Director of Photography on his shows.  His role as Series Director of Photography of “Catch” earned him top honors in 2008 as a Primetime Emmy Winner for Cinematography.  In the past five years he has earned a total of seven Emmy nominations, 2 as Producer, and 5 for “Outstanding Cinematography.”

During the late nineties Doug Stanley was the General Manager of C-3D Television, an early stereoscopic 3D network. In the role of Executive Producer, Doug supervised the creation of original 3D television shows, promos and other interstitial content including network identity, all in 3D. This programming was broadcast initially in C-band, but later in KU-band transmitting via the GE-3 Satellite. Through this period he traveled and studied 3D in Japan, Korea, China and Canada. He has a real passion for the visual mediums of cinema, television and stereoscopic 3D imaging. Doug is one of the few production executives with actual experience in 3D television content creation, delivering a host of 3D “firsts.”

Today Doug is the CEO of Ridgeline Entertainment, LLC, an advanced imaging content provider that develops and creates compelling 2D and 3D content and international broadcast events for television networks. Doug has recently acted as Executive Producer for Discovery Channel’s first 3D commission.  Doug has been very active in the field of television show development for many years, and is now leveraging a lifetime of experience and contacts in the industry in order to represent original television shows for sale to major network clients.
