Explore the latest compliance changes affecting your credit union.

Program Overview

Regulatory compliance issues continue to create challenges for credit unions. This workshop will discuss hot compliance topics and offer an in-depth analysis of the most current, proposed and final rules. Learn from a practical perspective what your credit union needs to do to comply. We will cover consumer lending, mortgage lending, BSA, CFPB proposed and final rules, NCUA rules and guidance, and many more topics.

NCUA Update
Learn recent developments with the NCUA, including:

  • New proposed and final rules
  • Letters to Credit Unions
  • NCUA Hot topics

Mortgage Rule Update
We will cover an overview of the changes in the mortgage lending compliance environment and the CFPB's mortgage rules. We will discuss:

  • New TILA/RESPA Integrated Mortgage Disclosure rule
  • New developments and common issues

Consumer Lending/CFPB Update
This session will focus on recent developments in consumer lending including the CFPB's recent action and future focus.

  • UDAAP
  • Hot topics and common compliance issues
  • Looking forward – compliance issues on the horizon

BSA Update
Get an update on current BSA requirements and trends.

 

Meet the Instructor:  Erin O'Hern

As PolicyWorks’ Compliance Attorney, Erin O’Hern serves as a resource for credit unions’ compliance questions, informs credit unions of new compliance requirements, and maintains a comprehensive understanding of federal regulations impacting credit unions. Erin is a resource for credit unions to stay appraised of current and future compliance deadlines.

Prior to joining PolicyWorks, Erin worked as a staff attorney for Iowa Legal Aid where she handled a variety of civil law cases. Erin received her law degree from University of Iowa College of Law and graduated from the University of Iowa College of Liberal Arts. She is a member of the Iowa State Bar Association. Erin has also earned CUNA’s Credit Union Compliance Expert Designation (CUCE).
