Appreciative Inquiry Facilitator Training Schedule and Hours
This Appreciative Inquiry foundations course includes mini-lectures, and experiential learning (individual, pairs, trios, small group, and large group) as well as auditory and visual materials to enhance the learning experience. Each day has a morning and afternoon session; a morning and afternoon break; and one hour for lunch.*
Day One - Experiencing Appreciative Inquiry
Learn basic process and experience AI by participating in a facilitated Appreciative Inquiry led by the Appreciative Inquiry Facilitator Training Trainers
Day Two - Understanding the power of Appreciative Inquiry
Actively learn about the concepts, principles, theories and research.
Day Three - Planning
Plan and practice how you will begin helping your organization, group, or community build upon their strengths.
Day Four - Practicing
Days one through four begin at 8:30 a.m. for coffee and networking. The training sessions will begin promptly at 9 a.m., Days One, Two and Three will end at 4:30 p.m.; Day Four will end at 4:00 p.m.

Ezelle Theunissen is a qualified coach, coach supervisor and psychologist with substantial experience in developing people, businesses and organizations. She holds a Masters degree in Psychology from Rhodes University, a Higher Education Diploma from UCT, and certificates in Coaching Skills and Coach Supervision Skills from Coaching Development (ICF accredited), as well as being a certified Appreciative Inquiry facilitator. Her broad range of experience includes developing interventions, facilitating, coaching, mentoring, supervising, monitoring and evaluating.
Currently, Ezelle works as a coach and coach supervisor in private practice, and she mentors on Coaching Development’s international coach training programme. Her coaching practice focuses on coaching managers and directors of businesses at the cutting edge of their fields. Her areas of expertise include entrepreneurship and business development, managing change, staff development, and increasing effectiveness and quality of experience in the workplace. Luke Younge is a facilitator for an international NPO that trains people in mindfulness, compassion and insight practices. His passion is releasing people’s capacities through positive, insight-based processes. As well as his local work, he was part of a team that launched a comprehensive mindfulness-trainer programme in South Africa and Scotland. In Scotland that programme is now an MSc in Mindfulness at the University of Aberdeen.
In addition to his facilitation work, he currently serves as a Director of the Institute for Mindfulness South Africa, an NPO committed to the practice, research and application of mindfulness. He is also a fellow of Mindfulness Africa. Learn More about Luke >>>

Outcomes - Certification
At the end of the four-day training and completion of a supervised practicum, participants will be eligible for certification to facilitate or co-facilitate Appreciative Inquiry sessions in a program, department, division, organization, group, or community on any topic that focuses on human systems change, i.e., "the way we do things."
