Participants will work on a wood lathe to complete a pepper mill with attention to design, accuracy in measuring, turning, drilling, finishing and assembly. Work with professional woodturner, instructor Nick Cook.
Skills include use of the spindle gouge, parting tool, negative rake scrapers, spur drives and live centers, scroll chuck, fostner bits, drilling on the lathe, proper consideration of grain orientation, fitting close tolerance parts, sanding, finishing and assembly.
The event will run from 9:00 - 4:30 with an hour break for lunch.
NOTE: Wear shoes that cover your toes, and bring a sack lunch. All tools, safety equipment and materials are provided.
