Take home an heirloom platter!


Learn to turn a decorative and functional wood platter
with woodturner and instructor Nick Cook.  
Nick is a professional woodturner from Atlanta. He is known for his excellence in teaching and he welcomes beginners as well as experienced woodturners who want to improve their skills. Participants in this workshop will learn to turn a platter using traditional or carbide tools, decorate the rim and finish the platter - take home an heirloom.

The event will run from 9:00 - 4:30 with an hour break for lunch. 


NOTE: Wear shoes that cover your toes, and bring a sack lunch. All tools, safety equipment and materials are provided.

About Nick Cook

Nationally known woodturner, Nick Cook lives in Marietta, Georgia, where he owns and operates his studio. He grew up around his father's woodworking equipment and became interested in the art of woodturning in the mid-70s after several years in furniture design and manufacture.

founding member of the American Association of Woodturners, Nick served six years on the board of directors, including one as vice president. 

In addition to creating one-of-a-kind pieces and his staple gift items, Nick teaches and lectures on various woodturning topics, has written articles for several woodworking magazines, and produced two woodturning videos. He teaches and demonstrates at his studio, universities, craft schools, and woodworking shows throughout the US, Australia, and New Zealand. >MORE
