FERPA 101: Student Records Rights and Privacy

Sharing student data within schools is an important part of the educational process, but the availability of digital data makes student data privacy an increasing concern.  In this session, Attorney Erin D. Gilsbach identifies the three primary rights afforded to parents and eligible students under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act and discusses the obligations placed upon public schools with regards to student records privacy.
