August PT for the Soul
COVID Anger: What's Your Game Plan?
Facilitated by Dan Quinlan
"How does one process this brutal reality?"
—Sarah Smarsh
Somehow, here we are again. We thought we were close to getting out of the woods on Covid-19, but this journey is clearly not ending soon. Whether we're looking at some course corrections or at a major about-face isn't clear. Either way, a lot of people are angry—and getting angrier. If you're one of those people, what are you going to do with that anger?
As Richard Rohr often says, "If you don't transform your anger, you'll transmit it." In this session, we'll talk about meditations and contemplative prayer that might help us here, leading to a calmer perspective that doesn't just paper over the problem.
Together, we'll discuss easy-to-adopt daily meditation practices based on everything from the teachings of prophets and poets, to findings from the worlds of neuroscience, physiology, and psychology. Whether you've joined our previous PT for the Soul meditation gatherings or not, this session will provide you with tools for developing new mental habits.
