Seeley’s Bay Spring Opener Bowfin Tournament Rules

(SBSO)

 Entrants shall register and pay a twenty dollars (20.00) fee before participating at the SBSO tournament.

 Payout is as follows, 1st place  $250.00, 2nd place   $150.00, 3rd place  $100.00 plus a trophy for the top 3 places. (Participants can only win once)

 Anglers shall have their Ontario Recreational Fishing License (Ministry of Natural Resources) before paying fee for SBSO tournament. Anglers are responsible to know and understand the requirements/limitations of their Conservation and Sportsman cards.

 Anglers shall follow the Ontario and Federal Boating regulations at all times.

SBSO Tournament/Anglers shall follow the Ontario Recreational Fishing guides which are published annually.

SBSO Tournament times are as follows Sunday May 26 2013 from 6AM to 2PM (all fish must be weighed in by 2PM)

All fish must be weighed in at Rideau Breeze Marina’s weigh station at 143 Haskins Point Road, awards ceremony will be at 2:30PM at this location.

Fishing from shore is permitted.  SBSO rules apply to both anglers fishing from a boat and from shore.

Non-Anglers /guests participating on boat or shore with registered angler must be registered.

All Bowfin caught will be measured using SBSO official measurement weight in pounds and length in inches.

All Bowfin must be caught between Upper Brewers Locks and Jones Falls Locks on the Rideau Canal ( Dog Lake, Cranberry Lake, Little Cranberry Lake, and White fish Lake).

In the event of a tie the winner shall be the person with the longer fish, and if there is still a tie, the participant who entered the fish first will be declared the winner.

This is a live release tournament; any fish that are not alive will receive an 8 ounce penalty. So please try to weigh your fish in while they are still alive.

The SBSO Committee has the authority to suspend SBSO angler if he/she in any way does not follow the rules of the SBSO and/or Ontario Recreational Fishing regulations.

 All children under the age of 12 years old must register and be accompanied by a participating adult over the age of 18 years old to be in the tournament.
