Presenter:  Van Pate, RBC Wealth Management

Van has been in the financial services industry since 1986. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner (CFP®) and is Series 7 and Series 66 licensed. He holds degrees from Washington & Lee University and Middlebury College. A frequent public speaker, Van works primarily with individual clients, but he has also worked with institutional clients as a planned giving consultant. As part of his responsibilities, Van works with RBC Wealth Management financial advisors to develop strategies in the areas of estate planning, retirement planning, stock option planning, charitable giving, education funding and wealth transfer. He also has significant experience in helping clients understand sophisticated equity risk management strategies such as exchange funds, equity collars and forward contracts. Van works with clients’ attorneys, accountants and other professionals to implement recommended planning solutions.
