Moderators

Jeff Brody, LMHC, ATR-BC, has a private psychotherapy practice in Braintree, MA, serving people of all ages who are on the gender spectrum and/or the autism spectrum. He is a licensed mental health counselor and a board certified art therapist (www.jeffbrodycounseling.com). He has over 20 years of experience in school, residential, addictions, inpatient, and outpatient settings. In 2011 he started a Yahoo group for gender specialists in New England to network, make referrals, and build capacity. He is one of the founding members of Compass, a New England FTM peer support group which began in 1999. Jeff is a member of WPATH (World Professional Association for Transgender Health), the American Art Therapy Association and the South Shore Coalition of Independent Therapists. A frequent presenter at conferences, Jeff is also spending an increasing amount of time training other professionals and advocating on behalf of clients. He has contributed to a number to anthologies and recently completed a book chapter (in press) for therapists who work with parents of trans youth. While not exactly on the spectrum, Jeff is an artist and has enough sensory and social quirks to say that he is not exactly NT.

Jamie Freed, MSW, LICSW, is Director of Adult Services at the Asperger/Autism Network and clinical supervisor of AANE’s Life Management Assistance Program (LifeMAP), a coaching program for neurodiverse adults and teens. Jamie provides information, consultation, and support services to adults, families, and professionals within the AANE community. She also works with employers and funding agencies to promote opportunities for adults with AS in the workplace. She is a frequent presenter on issues important in the lives of neurodiverse adults. In her 13 years at AANE, Jamie has become increasingly interested in the apparent overlap between gender and autism; she is the parent of a young adult who identifies as part of these two communities.
