Who Should Attend: Psychiatrist (MD), Psychiatric Nurse (RN), Psychologist (Ph.D) Social Worker (MSW), Mental Health Counselor, Mental Health Therapist, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) and other mental health professionals 

This training will examine the perspectives from neurobiology and the clinical setting.

Objectives:

  • Provide an overview of the pathophysiology associated with major depressive disorder, bipolar, schizophrenia, and suicidal ideation/behavior, discussing key neurocircuitry involved
  • Address co-occurrence of substance abuse with mood and psychotic disorders, what is the prevalence and what can be done?
  • Consider potential utilization of motivational interviewing in behavioral health and substance abuse counseling
  • Describe currently available treatment options and what’s on the horizon in psychiatry
  • Discuss key components of PsychU, demonstrate slide deck & resource download, highlight content updates and future initiatives/resources in behavioral health and primary care
