Learning Objectives:

  • Differentiate between spirituality and religion
  • Identify the benefits of spirituality in recovery
  • Identify five indicators of internal spiritual wellbeing
  • Learn six steps in the forgiveness process
Summary:

In this workshop, participants will learn practical approaches to improve internal spiritual wellbeing, including steps to take to release forgiveness.

 About the Presenter: Nanette Larson, BA, CRSS

Nanette Larson seeks to impart, instruct and encourage others to experience the hope, purpose, and wisdom for living well in all aspects of life. Her message, birthed out of the furnace of affliction, is powerful, inspirational and motivational. She will make you laugh, she will make you cry, but most importantly, she will make you think.  

For the past two decades, Nanette has provided statewide leadership within the Illinois Department of Human Services, Division of Mental Health. Nanette is a nationally recognized leader in the mental health recovery movement and has provided numerous presentations to diverse audiences on recovery, spirituality, and related topics. Her passion for recovery comes from her personal experience recovering from mental illness.  

In 2011, Nanette became an ordained minister, serving within her local faith community, Judah International Ministries, located in Mackinaw, IL. Motivated to empower others with the wisdom of wellness, she has recently established a consulting practice, Whole Health TEC. 

Nanette has a B.A. degree in Psychology and Religion from Illinois Wesleyan University and recently released her first book, From Shattered to Restored: Recovering Hope. Discovering Purpose.
