The Island's Creative Escape is proud to present...
Saturday, August 1st 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm
Cost: $55.00
For years Debby has wished for a journal/planner that could hold all the different notebooks and information for her daily life in one place – after searching and searching and not finding just the right thing, she decided to create her own from a vintage book. Using the binding system of the hugely popular Midori Traveler’s Notebook, she created a book that is exactly what she has always wanted. From there, her mind started whirling with the possibilities for using this idea to make books for anything and everything! She took a small book and made a notebook for my purse; She plans to take a large book about France and make a scrapbook for her Paris photos and memorabilia and stories; she wants to make a book filled with a variety of papers for sketching, watercolor, and mixed media… the possibilities are endless once you learn the techniques to make this book.
Your workshop kit will contain papers to make pages and pockets and a “dashboard” along with fun accessories and the all the supplies to bind your “Debby-dori.”
For this workshop, you will need to bring your own hardcover book – please see below for details.
Can’t make it to a class? Kits are available! The kit contains the printed directions with color photos. Note that a kit will not have the stamps, tools, or paints that are used in class. Please note that kits are available for in-store pick up for no additional cost or can be shipped for an additional $15.

When you make more of these books (and you won’t be able to stop yourself!) you can use ANY size book that you want!) Old readers, novels, and children’s books are perfect for this. She has found her books at Goodwill, but the Island, eBay and thrift shops are great places to look also. Please feel free to bring more than one book to class in any size to transform into your own "dori".
