A focus on economic and demographic changes since 2000
To sustain our communities and build our economies, we need to better understand economic and demographic trends and changes in the 14-county Adirondack North Country region and how these compare to the rest of New York State and to other rural places nationally.
With help from Empire State Development, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and other regional development partners, ANCA's 2011 annual meeting will feature data-driven presentations that will help us assess our strengths and our challenges and identify key economic drivers that influence employment and the future quality of our communities. With this comprehensive picture, we hope to better define internal and external factors that can create or hinder regional vitality.
It is important that this forum is taking place while the newly formed Regional Economic Development Councils are working hard on strategic planning across New York State. The ANCA region encompasses all of the North Country economic development region and parts of the Capital, Mohawk Valley and Central New York regions.
We invite you to join us at the Lake Placid Conference Center! More about Lake Placid can be found here: http://www.lakeplacid.com/. We thank the Olympic Regional Development Authority for their support.
