Philadelphia Theatre Research Symposium 

 

Join us on February 1 for the seventh annual Philadelphia Theatre Research Symposium as we welcome keynote speaker Tisa Chang, Artistic Producing Director of Pan Asian Repertory. This year’s conference, in coordination with the Asian Arts Festival, will highlight the work of new scholars in the area of, but not limited to, Asian and Asian-American theatre, ethnicity, identity, and hybridity.

Keynote speaker Tisa Chang celebrates four decades in the American Theatre as dancer, actress, director, producer, and founded the Pan Asian Repertory Theatre in 1977 to champion professional opportunities for Asian-American artists. She has performed in films and TV as well as on stage and has directed over 40 productions at La Mama ETC and Pan Asian Repertory, specializing in intercultural productions.

The Philadelphia Theatre Research Symposium is free and open to the public. The event will take place from 12 pm to 7 pm on Friday, February 1, 2013 in Vasey 206, the Vasey Studio. There will be 15-minute breaks throughout the day including a 30-minute lunch break and an hour-long reception after the panels. Keynote speaker Tisa Chang will speak at 6 pm.
