For Uninsured, Deadline Looms

For uninsured families and adults, the deadline to sign up for health insurance is March 31. Those individuals who want coverage by April 1 must sign up before March 15.  

Through a federal grant, Citizens Memorial Hospital provides a counseling service to assist those in navigating the health insurance marketplace. CMH certified application counselor Eran Dawson sees interested individuals by appointment only. CMH is hosting an open enrollment blitz on Saturday, March 8 starting at 8 a.m. at 2001 W. Broadway, Suite A, Bolivar. 

Additional appointments are available after hours by appointment only. “There are more Missourians that need to enroll before the deadline,” says Dawson. “This enrollment blitz is an opportunity for individuals to look at various health insurance options and purchase coverage before the deadline. Procrastinators will want to act now before time runs out.”

After the March 31 deadline, the next opportunity to enroll in the Healthcare Exchange is Nov. 15. For more information on the health insurance marketplace, or to schedule an appointment call 417-328-7575.
