CONNECT with MAEA through the

ARTIST / MAKER INTERDISCIPLINARY SERIES

ART + DOCUMENTING

For 2017-2018 the Programs Committee is presenting a new series of four teacher workshops focused on making connections across content. Master art educators, artists, and professionals will partner in presenting their work and facilitating hands on making. Sketchbooks are provided to participants to document their process, and we are excited to include your studio work in an exhibit of art from MAEA members across Maryland. Please join us in connecting, collaborating, and innovating in making and teaching!

$30.00 - MAEA Member / $35.00 Non-member

Our students are adept at understanding and creating moving images, but what needs to be learned in order to make a documentary style film? In a partnership between Emma Bergman of Wide Angle Youth Media and video teacher, Brandon Nicklas, this workshop showcases: the telling of stories with moving images, how to find strengths in collaboration, and simple, available technology that can easily enable filmmaking with all ages.

“Through media arts education, Wide Angle Youth Media cultivates and amplifies the voices of Baltimore youth to engage audiences across generational, cultural, and social divides. (Their) programs inspire creativity and instill confidence in young people, empowering them with skills to navigate school, career, and life.”
