Join Habitat for Humanity of Oregon in Eugene for a two-part Mortgage Summit! Each training consists of two half-day sessions.
As the demand for housing increases in Oregon, Habitat for Humanity affiliates are beginning to use innovative home sale models to increase their capacity. This two-part training will help affiliates learn best practices for mortgage origination as well as how to develop innovative home sale models.
Part I – Mortgage Procedures
We are thrilled to welcome Sue Chenevert, who currently leads Habitat for Humanity of Louisiana, to Part I of the Mortgage Summit. Sue will walk attendees through real-life applications of the new Federal lending laws for affiliate's on-the-ground homebuyer selection programs, through mortgage servicing. Sue first began her work with Habitat as the family services staff person at HFH Baton Rouge. She is passionate about working with and supporting Habitat homebuyer families. Also, she is probably the single most experienced Habitat loan originator in the nation. We think that folks will appreciate her down-to-earth approach to working with families, while complying with applicable lending regulations.
Part II – Mortgage Innovations
Part II will focus on mobilizing the capital resources that affiliates need in order to stabilize operations and serve additional families. We'll highlight funding opportunities through the Federal Home Loan Bank. Affiliate leaders experiences with mortgage leveraging will share their first-hand experiences. Especially timely with the new LIFT (Local Innovative Fast Track) housing funding opportunity through Oregon Housing and Community Services, we'll also discuss land trusts.
