Concussion Conference 2019:                                      Concussion Care Update

  The Slocum Research & Education Foundation in joint providership with Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), is pleased to host Concussion Conference 2019: Concussion Care Update on Saturday, June 1, 2019 from 8:00a - 12:30p at the Slocum Center for Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in Eugene, Oregon. Primary care providers, therapists, athletic trainers, allied health professionals, coaches, educators, and school counselors are encouraged to attend.

  Course objectives:

  • Explain the 6 steps of the Return to Activity Protocol and apply them in an appropriate clinical situation
  • Identify the risk factors for repeat concussion in the adolescent athlete
  • Discuss the best approaches to increasing function of students with concussion
  • Recognize the unique clinical course of early childhood concussion
  • Analyze the potential for co-morbid conditions and their risk of prolonging the course of concussion
