Play and Learn Science: Water play Workshop Series 

Rhode Island PBS invites you to register for a Science curriculum training for early childhood educators - "Play and learn Science: Water play" offered at our Providence Rhode Island PBS office.

All sessions will run from 6:00-8:30 pm at our Providence office- 50 Park Lane Providence, RI 02907- with free/dedicated parking lot on site. Light dinner will be served at the beginning of every session.  Also, a children's book will be provided to each participant at every session and at the end of the fourth session we will hold a raffle for a bonus prize among those who attended all four sessions.

 

 

Participants can earn up to 13 hours of professional development that have been approved by the Center for Early Learning Professionals. The 13 hours are attained by attending four face-to-face sessions and completing three assignments.

This series provides educators with an introduction to appropriate development practices relevant to learning environment, interactions, individualized instruction and will also give an introduction to the documentation and reflection process and how to align data obtained to the RIELDS. At the end of the series, participants will be able to:

* Implement strategies that build positive and supportive relationships for children in the program.

* Use the Rhode Island Early Learning Standards to plan and implement activities that support children's learning in the science domain.

* Implement strategies that support the implementation of activities and learning centers that support individualized instruction.

* Implement strategies that support children in the process of documenting and reflecting on their work while using these documents to assess the growth and development of children, measuring their progress towards specific learning objectives.
