Rhode Island PBS is excited to announce the Sesame Street in Communities (SSIC) Workshop Series, focused on providing caregivers, parents and educators with FREE tools and resources from Sesame Street to increase successful outcomes, both in school and in life, for children, primarily in rural communities both in RI and MA.
Presented in collaboration with RI Kids Count, Massachusetts Strategies for Children and RI & MA SEIU Education and Support Fund, the SSIC Workshop Series has the goal of reaching caregivers, families, and children by introducing them to a broad array of resources available through Sesame Workshop, with special emphasis on serving rural communities. SSIC resources address the early learning basics like ABCs and 123s, but also help children and families cope with traumatic experiences by demonstrating how to overcome challenges big and small. We are offering a series of three different workshops, with each session featuring an array of resources that parents, caregivers and community providers can use to support children’s development.
The last individual session of this series will take place from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. via Zoom on the following date:
The one day workshop will take place on Thursday April 21 from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. via Zoom and will cover the following topics:
This workshop is targeted towards rural communities across Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts. We hope that you will join us for this informative and important event to support local rural communities.
