Ready to Run™ is a nonpartisan program for women who want to run for office, seek higher office, work on campaigns, get appointed to local boards or commissions, or learn more about the political system.
Join the Women’s Fund of Omaha for a series of monthly workshops held on the last Friday of each month through June.
The next session on May 30 focuses on Fundraising Made Simple. It will be presented by fundraising consultant Nancy Bocskor with Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert and Senator Tanya Cook. Bocskor is author of "Go Fish: How to Catch (and Keep) Contributors: A Practical Guide to Fundraising" and is a professor at George Washington University's Graduate School of Political Management.
In this energetic and interactive workshop, you'll discover how to:- Build a functioning fundraising operation.
- Ask for money, even if you hate to.
- Use storytelling to build personal relationships.
- Build a powerful finance team.
- Plan fundraising events that actually raise money.

This workshop focuses on the importance of planning and executing a media strategy that includes advertising, social media and press coverage. Learn how to identify your influential messages, develop a plan and be consistent in your presentation.

Registration is required, and space is limited. Cost is $25 per session,
or $50 for the two remaining sessions.
