Annual Will County MAPP Fall Forum
Making Connections

Will County Mobilizing for Action through Planning and Partnerships (MAPP) is hosting the annual Collaborative meeting, known as the Fall Forum. The Fall Forum is an opportunity for new and existing partners to come together and learn about issues concerning Will County.

The theme of the Annual Fall Forum is Making Connections. Will County MAPP's success is dependent on partnerships and collaboration. Achievement of our initiatives is based on making connections to existing resources or establishing new relationships. This year, we will hear about state and county actions which focus on improving the health of our residents.

This year's half day event, hosted by Silver Cross Hospital, boasts an exciting agenda. Representatives from the MAPP Executive Committee will welcome guests. The MAPP Coordinator will present a brief overview of the Collaborative and what to expect in the next year. MAPP Action Teams will share updates in addressing the goals identified in the 2014 Will County Community Health Needs Assessment and Plan. Come hear about current Action Team initiatives: Will County Behavioral Health Capacity Assessment, Know Where to Go, WEWILL WorkHealthy, Rethink Your Drink and Mental Health First Aid.

Featured presentations include representatives from Will County Executive's Office and MidAmerican Center for Public Health Practice. The Will County Executive's Office will share information about Will County Connects 2040. They will highlight goals of the long-range transportation plan as well as share the process of gathering community input. MidAmerican Center for Public Health Practice (in collaboration with Illinois Department of Public Health) will explain how three statewide initiatives combined to create Healthy Illinois 2021. They will review current health data, identify assets and barriers, and explain current efforts addressing health priorities. In closing, we will take the information learned from the statewide and county plans and see how we can align strategic priorities, making the connection between common goals and objectives.

This event is free to attend. Breakfast will be served.
